What cars come with suitable Cosworth Turbo engines and gearbox's for a conversion into a MK2 escort? What is an Cosworth Turbo and box worth and where is the best place to look for them?

Expect To Pay Top Dollar If You Can Find One. I'd Say You Would Be Looking At At Least $2500 For The Head That Would Require Some Form Of Reconditioning But If You Find Something For Well Less, Let Me Know!!!!!!

There are a few peopel around that have done it. i know of a mk2 escort Rs200 with the cossie engine in it. its great. but it took the guy a LONG time to build. and had to have everything IMPORTED from th UK. and that cost a pretty penny anyway. My sujestion would be maybee a nissan SR20DET engine instead, as they provide similar performance and reliability. If you want to stay with Ford, Then get yourself a Zetec Engine and Turbo or SC the sucker. either way head on over to www.classicford.mine.nu

How hard is the conversion to an SR20DET? What would need to be done to hae it engineered and road licenced?
