anyone living in the Hervey bay area??
just looking for some advice regarding the area as am looking to buy property there shortly. If you do can you pm me or leave me a general "feel" for the area? Thanks all... |

Best way to get a feel for the area is to get there for a few weeks at least twice a year.
Now is the property to be investment or to live in any case hope you've got a bit as the values are up there,from memory average block about 800sqm will probably be around the 200+k,thats just the dirt. Mind if you move back a bit it gets cheaper. Just a thought ring the local real estate mobs.

thanks john...
my old man goes every year for 4 months.... hates vic winters! i was there in november, just looking around, but not long enough. it's the ideal spot i'd like to buy an investment property with view of later on living there myself... i've checked all websites etc and prices too. bit hard for me to go there and check out as now live and work in hongkong... but was just trying my hand on here incase anyone lived there. thanks again Mick. |

My daughter and her family live in the 'Pialba' area. Very nice. The prices are reasonable, so I thought, but her mum-in-law told me that they have nearly doubled since they bought their property, but that was way back when...
compared to where we live in 'coal country' the cost of housing in Hervey Bay is dirt cheap! |

Hervey Bay is awesome! Not far to Fraser Island, lots of nice people, laid back and a happy town. You can see whales certain times of the year, The only thing that sucks is the shopping, but you have Maryborough or Bundy. It would be a good time to buy and a great investment.

I live in Maryborough which is 20 minutes inland from the Bay. I don't mind Hervey Bay. Lived there for a year. It is mainly retirees that live there. Nice place, prices are kinda high though compared to Maryborough, but in comparisson to places like Bris and Sydney I suppose they are reasonable. I would recommend you buy in Maryborough and visit Hervey Bay. Cheaper living and you can visit the Bay whenever you please.
