Hello
Just woundering if changing the motor from a 1988EA to any other EA would it be straight change or is there some things that are diffrent if so what would they be any info would be good thanks. |

All the same, EA-EB-ED motors fit up/change over straight up
Dont need to change wiring or anything

Yes, our 88EA has an ED engine in her, so they are a straight swap.

i read in Australia muscle mag that the BA stright 6 will slide stright in like all EA-d's would and that you could pick one up for around $1,500
|

i just read that in an issue of Australian Muscle car, some guy wrote in to ask if an EF block would fit and they said yes and you could also put in a BA, becouse one guy he new had put in an xr6 turbo engine in witch he picked up for $3,000 brand new.
but im still not sure if i sould belive that. |

It may be easier than putting a BA engine into an EF, but those prices sound like the exception rather than the rule. There are many complexities associated with the much taller DOHC head, electronic throttle and so forth.
I think an EL motor would be the best compromise if it were my money, and do the head while it's out of the car. |

BA Motor - Considering JET-XR (an EF or EL) has a BA motor in it, but it sticks up out of the bonnet at the front, so it doesnt exactley fit, the EA-ED with the higher bonnet line may just squeeze it under, but I still think a fair amount of engineering would be needed.
