You are joking... aren't you?

Selecting reverse while going forward, even in the wet, couldn't exactly be good for your car, and isn't something I'd do without expecting to break something...

I thought that when I read the other thread.

Then I asked myself, "Why aren't I drunk?" and I didn't have a good answer.

It's 2nd hand info (Park @ 80kph)... It probably really was reverse, but the outcome was he bought a Charger after that incident :P He's an I6 man, & drives a 4.5L (?) Landcruiser now :Reverend:

I wasn't drunk at the time but I am now. I actually did do this. It really did feel exciting, being in a little Holden with cross plys on, on a great angle. It made you feel like you were driving a big ford.

I put my old XF in to R once doing about 100kph. Comming home from high school down McIntyre Rd. Back then petrol money was short so I would put it into N at the top of the hill and coast it - If you got a lucky green light at the bottom you could roll for k's. Anyway this time the sloppy selecter went a bit far and grabbed R. Did surprisingly little though. Made some awful noise like draging a cardboard box on concrete but the car didnt seem to slow down that much. Very surprised nothing broke.

things you should not do:

1: get ****ed, remember (hazily) something that happened 20+yrs ago in a commodore, then write a thread in e-series chat about it.

2: bother reading this thread. spose its a bit late for that though.

Just a friendly reminder that posting on the forums with a blood alcohol content above 0.07 is against the law.

WTF would you put a car into reverse deliberately?

You can kill ya self and damage the car, also loosing control and hurting or killing others, it is just stupid!
