Default Mackay to Bundaberg(via Perth,& Melbourne) Aus.Post rant

A bit amusing,i had a cheque posted to me from Mackay to me at Bundaberg, it took 2 weeks to get here and the envelope was post marked Perth mail centre and Melbourne! Why does postage costs increase every year and the service decrease?

wasnt australia post and telstra parts of the same company once ? PMG.
