I don't know why they keep talking up the extra 8 kw it gets over the Clubsport, its adds no extra torque and you could not even tell the difference between them.

The question needs to be asked as to why they kept the torque pegged to 550nm when the near identical 325kw engine in the Corvette makes 575nm. The extra 25 nm would have made a real difference.

If you believe HSV they have said it is because the drivetrain can't handle any more power.....yeah i don't believe it either. Not sure why they did that..could be they want to bring that out later i dont' know. Also its worth noting that the higher engine horsepower is just due to the exhaust basically....its the same engine as far as i can tell just a freer flowing exhaust a and slight retune to match.

HSV drivers do exactly the same thing, the manufacturer that has to give a warranty has to be more consevative, and it would be the same for FPV.

Yet HSV Support the Use of Walkinshaw Performance products & Tuning..

The LS3 has a heap in reserve and all in all apears to be a great Engine, more than capable of giving quite a few I6T's a whipping around the block.

You can say what you like about them but they will outsell anything FPV throw at it because they are different to the evryday Commodore where as the FPV look virtually the same. Just like the Commodre with SIDI it doesn't matter if what they say is crap about it's fuel consumption, torque, power, crap Auto. etc etc they will sell like hotcakes and Ford is again 18 months behind.
No wonder they will never out sell GMH

i dont agree, a GTS doesnt look different enough from a clubsport which doesnt look different enough from an SS.

they will however outsell FPV because they have a better marketing dept, just look at the ads on tv, FPV ads were 15sec long where HSV had one of the best ads ive seen (changing utes leading to the VE). it was head and shoulders better

Ford should have done an add like that....
We made the ute and we keep making it better then everyone else....The new Ford FG ute Built tough for everyday work like it should be. :

woops... back on topic: all they've done is try and make it something its not (euro styled day time driving lights... GAY! ) the front looks like a snow plow and the rear is still too damn high! dont mind the optional wheels though, they look kinda tough....

FPV have outsold HSV in SWB sedans on a number of occasions, so don't be so quick to assume HSV kill FPV in sales.

FPV's new model is around 7-8 months away.
