Be carefull with that statement - I can remember back when we workers had more allowances that I care to remember - and we still got paid the correct amount using manual systems. All computers have done is complicate the process and like I said in a previous post, employers want more from those systems to integrate other functions.

yeah back in the good ole days, when the payroll office, had high numbers of staff...why pay people to do what a system should be able to do for you...

a lot of the work is formed from new Agreements with stupid penalties and or allowances...

I am all for it being more complicated, as that way my daily rate just continues to increase and increase and increase....

The problem is people believe Labor's lies every time there is an election. They are good at winning elections and understand how stupid the Australian population really is.

Once they are in power they spend money on spin doctors rather the Medical Doctors and admin staff rather than Nurses, Police, Teachers and other front line staff who actually make Health, Education etc.

The curent Governments always have someone who can advise them on how to stay out of trouble with the media but not people who actually do the work required by the population

NSW has just this week advertised 180+ jobs for admin staff but none for teachers, police etc.

The left wing media is quick to jump on stupid things like budgie smugglers but ignore Government encouragement to people smugglers

NSW has the worst Government in history but you watch the idiots vote them back in again in 2011

People in pay area have always been more efficient than systems cause the system is as only as good as the bloke programming it. Agreements and awards with stupid penalties have always been there. For example even now a lot of systems cannot manage the workers compensation pay which was set in legislation back in the 1980's - and ask any serving military how their pay is managed especially if they go OS.

Walt, I thought this was a non political argument as it does not matter which bloody party is in the result is the same.
