Doesn't have to be in the bottom, but it can't be in the tinted band.

Yeah but when the demister/fan/airco dies (as an eseries will decide to do when it thinks it's not getting enough attention), having the sticker way up at the very top means it is less likely to be affected by water droplets, meaning it has a better chance of staying on.

That's my excuse to Mr Policeman... along with "gee that's a nice baton you've got there. Are those handcuffs real cos they look like FUN... "

Anyway! It can be put on the back left triangular window as well (in NSW) - where kids can reach it and pick at it, instead of their noses, with their grotty sticky fingers...

I don't think we can win.

If you read the notice that you rego sticker comes on it says and i quote "Affix sticker to lower left side of front windscreen". Just like you are to affix you P plates to the lower part of the screen.

No - the recirc/fresh flap breaks on all e-series models - and all are prone to occasional heater core leaks. It was one issue with the car that was never fixed.

I find arildite the best fix for the recirc/fresh problem, the rod is stronger where repaired I have found.

Wouldn't lose any sleep over it Niko, I've always put my stickers up there. 90% of the time the cops don't even notice. The other 10% they tell you to move it and do nothing else.

I've had cops check mine and it's up high 70% covered by the blue tint. You can clearly see the rego number on the label, but most of it is covered up. I chose to put it there because i felt it decreased visbility when it was lower, if a P plate where to be put next to it or above it... Now if a P plater drives my car then the P plate is in the right spot and cops don't even notice (or care about more likely) the rego label...

john, and wen the do check it, its in the daytime, (very rarely) and would be 100% visible, and at night they use a torch anyway.

so i dont understand why this rules so "big"

It's the rule so that if a policeman passes you driving, and he can see your sticker's the wrong colour he can pull you over. It's all about visibility.

One time Dad got pulled over for speeding in the old 89' Rodeo (down a hill with a tail-wind). Despite 2 massive cracks running across the entire length of the windscreen, and bald tyres, they didn't take notice of it. They asked him if it was registered, and he said "Yeah, I'll get the rego sticker for you". He started rummaging through the glovebox, and starting pulling out various rego stickers. "Boat, motorbike, tractor...". The cops said not to worry about it, and they will check the computer. He found it, and showed it to them anyway. He got in no trouble for not having the sticker attached to the windscreen. I don't know why he doesn't put the stickers on his vehicles right away.

Hmmm we must be pulling dodgies at work then. Subarus have their sunlight sensor right under that spot, so we whack them on the top left.

Bindi are you serious cos that sounds like the most half-arsed attempt at justifying it to me. If youve got water droplets forming on the inside of you windscreen I would suggest you have more to worry about than the rego sticker coming off!

Why is it so hard for people to put a sticker where it's supposed to go anyway? Mine is on my windscreen UNDER the tinted part at the top, perfectly visible, not in the way of anyone or anything.

Geez mate, recently you've been taking everything I say VERY seriously (and getting a bit abusive about it)... I just don't get it. Calm down, take everything I say with a pinch of salt, and go get laid ffs - cos you seem tense.

Ok in NSW those stickers used to be VERY difficult to get off when it came to replacing them every year. You'd have to use a razor blade to scrape, plus soak the sticker in a spongeful of metho, and scrub for a fair while. Many people whinged and they changed the design.

Now they come off when you look at them sideways. Any kind of teeny water droplet can affect the glue, and they start to peel away at the edges. I did have to move it from the back left window because when my kids were younger they would actually attempt to peel it off (in one case, my youngest daughter took the sticker OFF). Just kids being kids and not realising the implications of me driving around with no rego sticker while they played with it.

I have only been pulled over by a cop once (on my Ps all those years ago!), the other few times I've been in contact with a cop has been because of RBTs. They have never said anything about where I keep my rego sticker (it is covered a fair bit by the tint).

If they did, I would explain my water droplet theory and hassle the RTA about the glue in our conversation. I would move it if they pushed the issue though.

There B2TF, HAPPY?!?! : :evil_laug

I agree, not displaying the rego sticker and p plates properly must be the cool thing to do or something.:

Talked to a cop today about this, and he said only if the cop wants to be an ********, or he doesn't like you for whatever reason will he then do you for the sticker in the wrong spot. He said he'd put rego down the bottom, and the P plate up the top if it were him.

Oh, and incidently they pulled me over for a rego check because they saw my sticker was green, and green is going out of date. So even half covered it is still visible enough for them to see...

Yep they can be a PITA to get off.

Last time I turned the sprinkler on in the car it didnt come off. Seriously though, where does the water come from? Doesnt your demist work or something?

So why try to justify it? Thats what I dont get. Stick it down the front right of your windscreen in front of the dash so you cant see it, but it can still be visible outside the car.

AS far as i knew all you had to do was have the Rego sticker on the left front or side facing, non-winding window.
I have had mine on the rear 1/4 window on all my cars.
