Default waterleak

hi i have a ef falcon n havin a problem wit the water pump.. how much is it 2 repare or would it be easyier 2 do it my self.

water pumps are about 60-70, pretty easy to replace if you know what you're doing, I found the hardest part was getting the clutch fan off. I'd imagine a mechanic would charge around $200 maybe more.

ef's dont have clutch fans?

loosen the tensioner and take the belt off, its much easier to pull it out ef/el onwards

lol, I didn't see he had an EF, but i was refering to my experience in changing the pump. :P Yeah it would be **** easy in an EF EL, now i think about it.

Just make sure you have a NEW gasket with the NEW pump? Scrape the OLD gasket off and CLEAN the area REALLY good. There is a pipe into the back of the Pump as well, get a NEW O-ring for it (V890066S Genuine Ford part).

One thing, when you drain all that water out and are going to re-fill, put some Coolant back in? best thing for the car all round.
