Default boost and a 711m 1.6 how hard?

ok so there is the chance of me obtaining a supercharger and the thought of me putting it on the 1600 in my 4 door when my open licence happens gave me a big smile... but how hard would it be...

would i need to be running hardened everything... would the current slightly bored with mild cam but standard everything else 1600 cope?

the particular supercharger with the current pulley set up would be runnin 10psi but can be downgraded to 7

I would've thought you'd need to lower the compression ratio on boosted engines. Or is the 1.6 already low enough, but is it tough enough?
But I'm no expert.

There have been a couple of guys running turbo's on the 1600 crossflow at standard compression but low boost. These motors are hard as nails & do hold up well for a long time but may eventually fail.

Usually the bottom end will cop the most punishment so It would probably be best to re do the bottom end if you want something reliable & will last.

You may be able to get away with just a decompression plate which will take some of the strain off, but its probably not the best long term if you want it to last.

Your best bet is to do it right the first time, its also cheaper in the long run
