Default Droping Oil Pressure

Hi Guys!

yesterday I was driving my EL fairmont and had the aircon on, I got stuck in traffic for a while and all of a sudden my oil pressure started to drop untill the warning light went on and it started to beep. I pulled over and checked the oil and it was fine, the temp guage was also in the normal range....

any idea on whats happening guys?? let me know!!

Hmmm.....Not sure what that could be....but I have had almost the opposite happen on both my EL Fairmonts....

I can be driving along and all of a sudden the oil pressure needle will go straight to the red and stay there....sometimes it hovers, other times it will bang hard up against the stops!!...Usually drops back down after a few mins...

This can happen when roaring around town, or when cruising on the highway at steady revs. Raising or lowering revs does not seem to make any difference...even idling. It just comes down when it is good and ready to!

Both my EL Fairmonts have done this at various times....Maybe we are both have dodgy senders??

Yeah could be the sender, it only seems to happen with me on hot days and only when I have my Air Con on!
