Default Ford Announces Pricing for All-New Focus

July 1 2011

  • All-new Focus comes to market with two exciting body-styles, three power-trains and four specification levels, including a new high-tech luxury Titanium variant
  • New Focus combines dynamic design and exceptional array of smart technologies with high levels of craftsmanship, outstanding occupant safety and further advances in acclaimed levels of driving quality
  • Recommended Manufacturer's List Price for the all-new Focus range starts from just $21,990 for the entry-level Ambiente model
Ford Australia today announced Manufacturer's List Pricing for the all-new Focus range at the Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne.

The all-new Focus range introduces a new-look, four-tier model line-up, comprising entry-level Ambiente, mid-series Trend, dynamic Sport and high-tech luxury Titanium models.

The Ambiente is a stylish introduction to the all-new Focus range and comes to market with a recommended Manufacturer's List Price (MLP) at $21,990 for the five-speed manual transmission variant, which is the same starting price as the outgoing entry-level LV Focus MkII CL model.

The mid-series Focus Trend effortlessly merges stylish design with innovation and convenience, as well as introducing the 2.0-litre GDi petrol or Duratorq TDCi diesel engines to the Focus range.
Trend also provides customers with a host of additional features including cruise control, front fog lights, alloy wheels and an optional Convenience Pack with auto headlights, automatic rain sensing windscreen wipers, auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror and 'follow me home' lighting.
The recommended MLP for Trend starts at $24,490 for the 2.0-litre GDi petrol engine with five-speed manual transmission.

The dynamic character of the all-new Focus really comes alive in the Sport, with an even greater emphasis placed on driving enjoyment. Key features on the Sport model includes sports suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, sports front seats, dual zone climate control and a Sony audio system with 4.2-inch colour screen and multi-function display.
In addition, Focus Sport includes all of the Trend's optional Convenience Pack features – auto headlights, automatic rain sensing windscreen wipers, auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror and 'follow me home' lighting – as standard equipment.

More comprehensively equipped than the outgoing Zetec model it replaces, the recommended MLP for the new Focus Sport starts at $27,390 for the 2.0-litre GDi petrol engine with five-speed manual transmission – a nominal increase of $900 or just over three per cent, however, the new Sport model includes more than $2,400 of additional equipment compared to Zetec.

Focus Titanium features the very latest innovative technology and contemporary luxury, making it the ultimate all-new Focus model. With standard equipment including Active Park Assist, Ford Smart Key keyless entry system and Power start button, partial leather seat trim, heated front seats and 18-inch alloy wheels, the recommended MLP for Titanium starts at $32,590 for 2.0-litre GDi engine and six-speed PowerShift transmission variants.

On sale in August, the all-new Focus is a key element of the Ford product portfolio in Australia.
"In every world market where Focus competes, customers are looking for expressive design, affordable innovation, superior quality, responsive performance and exceptional fuel efficiency," said Bob Graziano, President and CEO, Ford Australia.
"In Australia, the all-new Focus presents all these elements in one outstanding package. It raises the bar in all these areas, which will not only delight our existing customers but also expand the appeal of the Focus brand to a whole new generation of Ford customers."

Yep, that'll be in the new ST / XR4 - it'll have about 185kW...

Pricing initially seems a bit on the expensive side, but I think for what you get this is actually great value!

the headlights stay on for 30 seconds or so after you lock the car such that you can see your way to your front door of your house.

Also, that Sports Executive Pack appears really good value for money. The Euro's charge $2k for the Xenons and $2k for the roof. You get both for $2300, thats great value and adaptive cruise! Wonder if it will slow you down as well to avoid overspeed while going downhill?

They are list prices and hardly anyone pays list. And not many new models are ever cheaper than outgoing models. We can be fooled with the jump from the advertising of runout pricing to the new model pricing too.

Entry level pricing OK at $21,990 which is around the same as previous model the auto comes with a $2300 premium.
Base model auto comes in at $24290 this car will compete with Holden Cruze for size, I hope people can see through quality and not buy just on price.

My sister just got a previous model run out, ill have to ask what she paid.

The base price seems really good. But...

Am I reading it correctly that the cheapest diesel is $30k and no manual?

$36,000 plus on roads for the Titanium Diesel. That's XR6 territory.
