Default Coolant level issue

Does anyone know why my coolant level drops after driving. Its an Ef Futura and after about 50km i have to put in about 100ml of water.
There is no sign of leaks or anything and no milky residue in the oil

Hows the Radiator cap, could always be worth a replacement especially if its the original (in fact i would replace it any way, you can eliminate the potential for a problem for $8).

I had this exact problem with my E-series and in my case it turned out to be the welch plugs. They were leaking, but couldnt spot it because it was under the Exhaust manifold and was evaporating due to the heat. For your sake i hope it isnt this, but then again its cheaper than a head gasket.

Anyway you can do what Bozza17 said and check it isnt overfilled ,then you could check all the hoses and connections. Then you can move on to the thermostat. With an E-series it can be a multi-tude of things unfortunately.

I just hope it isnt the headgasket of doom, but it seems your case it isnt

could be;

- welsch plugs
- water pump (or piping from water pump round to thermostat)
- hoses
- radiator
- thermostat housing
- headgasket
- radiator cap

check all these and see what the problem is

Is there anything leaking underneath or any wet patches in your engine bay?

Your radiator might be on its last legs and not cooling your engine properly...hence more fluid being used.

get a pressure test done with a cold engine, this way if theres any leaks they wont evaporate on hot engine parts.

They can sometimes leak water from under the head gasket and it runs down the outside of the block but evaporates before it hits the ground because the the temp of the bloc.
