If you have a nokia, you can get a cable called a DKU - 2 (you can get it from ebay for about $20) it connects to the USB port in your comp and the other end to you computer, and using the software that comes with the phone you can upload music and pictures etc etc...
Mono is single tones like in the old phones that sounds like they were recored of a crappy keyboard or something, Polly is a bit more sufistacated(sp?) with many more tones and alot better sound While true tone is exactly that, a true representation of what it is playing, esentially its a Mp3... |

But, with ringtones these days it isn't as simple as them sending it to your phone.
You will be sent a link to download it via a WAP conection and all the ones on my mobile phone bill are only like 2 to 5 cents for the minor kb file size (but i guess 5 cents is a hidden charge) |

heres the difference between the 2 http://www.expansys.ie/forumthread.a...DKU-2&thread=3 yeh go ebay, thats the way to go. theyre about $40-60 for the generic ones, and for the proper nokia cable their about $90-110 as for downloading WHO ARE YOU WITH??? im with vodafone and if your prepaid you get free wap. ohh its soo addictive :P but if your with someone like optus your better off getting the cable. if u get the cable, you can download a software, such as pc suite, and it helps when u download, perfect for pics, and you can edit midi files ive got a couple of sites to go 2, just tell us, if you want em, because wap is really expensive when ya have 2 pay for it |

The other alternative that everyone has forgotten is infrared. You can pick up a USB infrared adapter pretty cheap, and that will do the same thing as the cable, and will give you connectivity for ANY IR device.
Pick up a copy of any phone manager software, jump onto Emule, and download some midi ringtone suites... WAP ain't free for me, and screwed if I'm actually gonna PAY for friggen ringtones!
