Well we sped towards Eagle Vale police station, but they are more a HWP outpost than a station, and they close at 10:30pm.

My phone had no battery and my mate had no phone so we drove to Macquarie Fields Police, made it there in 10 or so minutes (normally 20 min) made a statement and they organised a few cop cars scour the eagle vale area. We went back to the carpark the next day and saw a trail of blood drips. Also saw the tyre marks on the road leading to deeply scraped patch where the bike frame must of ground into the asphelt.

We didn't hear about what happened to them but at least we got the satisfaction giving these low lives a part of what they deserve

And doing a 2 car shuffle in the morning to gets cars out for work really gets annoying..

whereas being on the nature strip people can still walk past easily and you can fit a postie bike quite comfortably past my car and garden edge/ letterbox.. (hes been doing this for months and months without any dramas)

and even though this maybe illegal, the police officer and australia post havent said anything about it ?!?! and even if they did, it dosent neglect the fact that he scrapped down the side of my car and drove off.. leaving the scene of an accident?

Anyhow, the postie admitted to doing the damage to my car, and hopefully without too many dramas they will pay for it to be fixed..
Just be aware that if anyone looses control on the road in front of your house and hits your car, it could be used as a way out of paying you any compensation. Just because everyone else does it, wont be much comfort to you then. Be aware you take a calculated risk parking there.

Glad to read that you are having your car fixed.

Actually if Aus post is anything like Telstra they do NOT have insurance for property damage on their vehicles.

They self insure, although they do pay an insurance company to handle all claims...

Well, its been two weeks now, and a mysterious series of scratches have appeared. So.... now im left with a few scratches...

Mine is blue and that didn't stop someone from damaging it at Symmons on the weekend. Don't have a clue who hit it. Hope you get a change of luck.

Just got another quote on the damage to the rear door from my mate.. $350, and thats at extreme mates rates from a close friend of mine who is a spray painter/panel beater...

All in all between my mate, the postie and the Mt Druitt SCUM, total damage is up towards $2,800 or so..

as i told stiddy we had a member from Aus post pull a burnout on our driveway. its stencilcrete, so slippery in the wet, the left a fat balck line on it and the postie wouldnt admit it. eventually they paid up.

but yeah i hate kids that disrespect their own stuff as well as other peoples stuff.... in my old ED, one od my idiot mates thought it would be fun to jump on the roof just as i was leaving somewhere putting some huge scratches across the top... idiots.

Hey all...

I just made a call to Australia Post, to see where they are upto with fixing up my car and they came back saying the investigation is over and they WONT be covering the cost of damages to my car, because they have inspected the bike and saw there was no damage on it and that means it couldnt of done damage to my car, even though the postie admitted to doing it he has now changed his story saying yes he rubbed up agaisnt the car BUT he didnt scratch it... they havnt inspected my car to see the damage.. and also they didnt ring me to tell me..

the police officer thats been helping with this isnt back on duty till sunday, so i spose i have to wait and see what happens from there...
so not happy right now.. i really dont know what to do..

A band on the north coast here wrote a song called "postie" once... Can't remember all of it, but the chorus was:

"Postie!
Thinks that he's great!
Postie!
He's bullbar bait!"

Shocking.

i rang my insurance company to see if they can do anything and they washed there hands of it because i didnt tell them straight away when it happened.. (few weeks ago) and i explained to them that i didnt feel the need to contact them cause australia post was going to cover the cost etc etc etc.. so thats my own fault in that reguard..
i spoke to my dad to get some advice off him and he said keep ringing them, get the police on the case again, get the news onto it, threaten with lawyers... and dont stop until you get something out of them..

Have you informed your insurance company? You have a police report. Did you make a record of your conversations with Aust Post and the postie admitting liability?

All this info should be provided to your insurer. You're paying a premium, let them earn it, and have them do the leg-work.

Whenever a victim deals direct with the other party's insurer, its almost always a game of bluff to try and get out of paying you. If you call their bluff with your own insurer representing you, you may very well get a favourable outcome.

The worst that can happen, your insurer says it doesnt look like it wpould go your way in court, and they'll leave it to you to decide whether you want to proceed with a claim.

And you took no for an answer?

Remember, its probably cheaper for your insurer to get money from Aus Post than if they have to cover it. So if you indicate you would be filing a claim, they would at least look into the likelihood of a win against Aus Post.

Who is your insurer?

Perhaps you should scrape your car down the side of his postie bike while he's riding it and see how his body work comes up with a few scratches. And possible while opeing our door to inspect the damage to his body work drop the boot into his nuts.

Call their bluff mate. Get your insurer to represent you. That's why they're trying to wash their hands of it, because NO ONE FIGHTS ANYMORE! Stick it up 'em!
