Default Dignostic Scanner for $10, Experience with? thoughts?

Hi Guys,

Just saw this on a one of those cheap electronics sites from China.

Seems pretty good for $10 but i thought I would see if anyone else had exp with it or whether this would even work with a falcon/territory?

I've got one for mine and it reads most things back to my Android phone via bluetooth.

There is a little bit of lag (50ms up to 1sec depending on what mood it's in) but for $10 + the app it's a good bit of kit.

I just bought the one my67xr showed above, for $13 it worth trying it out.

Anyone wouldn't happen to know what model lets you use a phone to monitor the diagnostics?

Anything Android based, there are a few apps around but the best by far is one called Torque.

You have to pair the device first and the code is usually 1234, 5679, 6789 or some combination of 1 through 9 in sequence, depends on manufacturer.

Sadly my options are more limited with an iphone, i can either shell out $50 for the dashcommand app, which looks to be the best, or get a crappier cheap/free app.

Installous doesnt have dashcommand so pirating it is out.

Apparently dashcommand works with pretty much any scanner, if anyone has the app mind telling your expieriences with it?

Hi Guys,

What can these OBD scanners do on a modern FG falcon?

Can they be somehow used to tune the car? i.e. I understand they can not be used to flash, but can they be used as a tool to understand how the car is running so that Dyno tuning is not required?

Thanks

i have a samsung galaxy s2, and use the free torque app with mine.
couldnt the i-phone be connected through the obd2's wifi though?

my pin code was either 1234 or 0000 to connect/pair the two

i posted up a little on the scan tool in my thread,
what it can do/read etc
probably can do a lot more once i suss it out better.

To be more accurate I found it on installous and apptrakr, but the links aren't working, so i might have to settle for an earlier version like 1.9.1
