What does xr mean?

A common misconception about the designation is that it was borrowed from Ford Europe where it stands for 'Experimental Research', when, in fact, it was a tribute to the 1966 XR Falcon, the first Falcon model to offer a V8 engine option. The first XR's were the XR6, S-XR6 and XR8 (these names were applied to the more performance oriented Ford Falcons) and the XR2 (Ford Capri). The number after the "XR" is used on Falcons to designate the amount of cylinders the cars engine has.

it means XTREME REVOLUTION and SS means super ****, FPV means ******* performance vehicle and HSv means HORRIBLY slow vehicle well that's my opinion

The XT GT was beaten by a Holden at Bathurst and the XT falcon was beaten by the Holden on the sales charts...
