Ok, apart from JMM, does anyone know who makes good performance valve springs to suit EA-EL heads?
Gonna be putting a lumpy cam in, and although they aren't essential, it would be nice to have stiffer ones. I can get genuine EF XR springs for around $14 a pop, was wondering how aftermarket alternatives compare? I assume different valve retainers would be required also? |

crow cams offer two spring choices
Single spring with internal dampener. This uses the stock retainers and collets Binds at 0.600" should cost arround $100 Double Spring. Requires new retainers and collets. Binds at 0.650". Increased seat and nose pressure over the single sping. Cost is significantly more as you require new retainers/collets.

Cheers for that Walkinshaw.
The cam I have chosen has a maximum lift of 0.520", so i would think the single spring would be sufficient - I have emailed crow themselves to see what they would reccomend. I am getting prices from my supplier, also, so depending on the cost difference may go the doubles to make it easier for a super lumpy cam at some point (although I doubt that will happen) |

Singles. Using the standard retainers and collets. They were supplied with a Alted stage 3 cam, so i'm guessing high seat pressures and over 600thou binding lift
