I havent done it myself byt i've heard its around $100 - $150 extra when you do a rebuild. Balancing wont let you rev it any harder it will still have a long stroke. The engine will run smoother and rev up quicker tho.

can you buy already balanced crank and pistons and that, or does it have to be done as the engines getting built. also do ACL sell balanced parts.

All the parts get balanced together. Do the entire rotating assembly: Balancer, crank, rods, pistons, flywheel and pressure plate if manual. Ive reved mine to around 6300-6400. Its smooth but that is still dangerous. At that high rpm the the long stroke makes the pistons move at insane speeds. Best to keep things below 6000 IMO.

6000 is almost another 1000rpm over stock though i'd only rev mine to a max of about 5200

Stock engines should have no problems getting to 5500-5800rpm

Yes but a stock engine shouldn't have any issues reving that hard if you remove the limiter.

Cost will vary depending on how much you get done and what tolerances it is done to. Best bet is to phone your local engine builders and find out.

Bit of a waste of $$$ if your only going to rev to 5200.
