Default EL XR6 Brake lifespan

Does anyone have a rough indication of how long front brakes should last?

i killed my bendix advance pads over a period of 11 months. but that included many many sprited driving situations. i should think if you dont hammer your brakes they would last a couple of years. you should be changing your brake fluid at least yearly as well.

I replaced both the front and back brakes on my XR6 when I bought it 2 years ago (67,000km) now have 110,000km and according to my mechanic - who is a good friend, I m not likely to get another 5,000km! I just wanted to know if this is normal wear or if it's because I tend to drive it a little bit hard?!!

2 years on pads can be a long time if you like to brake hard.

pfffft, brake harder you skirt

i was impressed the advance lasted as long as they did. they still have plenty of meat left on them but i had glazed them up real nice. it just gave me an excuse to throw greenstuff in cos i have wanted them for ages and the advance would fade out after a few minutes on my favourite mountain.

In both the XH I had and the EL I have now I'm happy to see 20000km out of a set of front pads, and I don't brake like a lunatic.
E series brakes are small for the weight of the cars and use their pads quickly.

IN a taxi the pads in the ef/els used to last any where from 30,000-40,000 km.. .. so id say the k's your car has done on pads is pretty good

I live in a hilly area and have to replace the pads about every 4 months. I fitted new rotors about 3 months ago, and already they have a small lip :(

the ebc greenstuff pads i put in are kevlar/ceramic. should be equal force of metal pads but less wear on your rotors.
