Some of the "no-name" brands can be crap with fast moving action (judder on some I looked at were unwatchable for me).

As Struggo said above, if you can hook up a PS4 to the TV your looking at in store, it will save some disappointment.

Once I found out that I could play it on-line...well that's when I made the change. I was a Boss at that game. So just before playing my first opponent I was thinking to myself that I would obliterate him. Within about 10 minutes, my base looked like a Horde of Vikings on Viagra had been through it. I've since discovered hot-keys and binds.

Yep That was great! Funny thing is, when I heard about it's release I visited a Internet Cafe with a friend to try it out on Lan before buying it. But some ***-hat downloaded a hack so as soon as you built something an A-bomb would land on your base, lol. Yuri's Revenge was my favourite of the bunch.

I picked up a 40" Samsung LED LCD from JB Hifi for $550 the other month which was advertised over $600. Non 3D, to replace the first ever series Samsung LCD tv I had for 9 years which I had bought for $3700 back in the day.

I would be haggling on prices if you can. TV's are practically disposable products. If a $500 tv lasts you 3-5 years and dies, in my opinion it's a throw away item and buy a new one.

This is the mentality I have with TV's now due to them being so stupidly cheap.

My Toshiba Regza cost me $2500... I'm pretty ****ed.. it has some weird vignetting (Sorry, Photographer term) in the corners, and there are black dots appearing about 2mm thick, from the top of the screen, all along the top. It has done us well though, almost 7 years.

But yeah, I just want it to still have good quality Picture / Sound and be able to play PS4 games on it :P

I know what you mean by that term. Being an amateur photographer and all.

Just that at the time, I wanted the latest and greatest and was prepared to dig deep to get it. Now being a little wiser, I know if my stupidity. haha

In my opinion, get the best your dollar can afford. Forget extended warranty on a set of that price range too. It should come with 12 months manufacturer's warranty anyway. Chances are it will possibly last 3yrs before anything major happens. Technology has improved 10 fold since out first relics were released. So they have the capacity to handle the latest at the moment.

Seeing as it's a dedicated PS4 screen, the usage on the screen will be less than if you had it for regular viewing (of course if you are a heavy gamer I take that back).

i was in JB yesterday, ..................... in my best italian accent .... mumamia !!! ....... if only i had money , some of those big/huge tv`s ...............the picture quality is god damned amazing, just mesmerizing to look at, and easy to want to blow the budget for one of those beauties .
if i was looking at tellys i would also like to make sure it had plenty of alternative fittings for different cabling, a usb port or two would be handy as well i think, i like the idea of the smart tvs that connect to your mobile, if i can swing it a samsung smart telly will be my next one.
perhaps take the mrs with you when your walking through JB , she might see a nice big one and say ok budget upgrade, that way you wont get a smack for doing something naughty yourself .

Seems pretty good, but it is mounted outside on a wall in my patio/alfresco area, so it doesn't get a lot of use (read: none) this time of year.
