i recently installed a new radiator in my ef and whilst temp gauge sits on the low side of normal most of the time but the other day i had a full load of people in car and was climbing a steep hill of about 2 k'S when gauge went up to close to "o" ,and as road levelled off it quickly went down to the low part of gauge,is this normal, ps it was a hot brisbane day,i beleive you can alter fan switch to come on earlier, will this help and how do you alter fan setting ?

Did you have the a/c on? Have you checked your cooling systems for leaks? Had it pressure tested? Are we talking NORMAL down the cluster or across the cluster? Mine is down and I am assuming yours is too as otherwise the O wouldn't be too hot.
That's very warm and I have always been told that if it goes past half way (between the r and m in my car) to turn the a/c off and pull over till it cools or I risk my head gasket. However since having my radiator flushed, cleaning out between my radiator and condenser and having the thermostat housing changed and the system filled with Prixmax and pressure tested my car has never gone above the low part of M and that was when (with out a/c) we drove up the Toowoomba range with a full load of 6 in the car. |

Mate, maybe you could put the dash into diagnostic mode, get the actual engine temp up, then post that up and see what it is...
It could even be your sender that isn't working properly, although I'm sure the O in normal isn't all that bad...
