Thinking of starting a new project with an xr6 turbo into a cortina but has recently hit the skids as it looks like you can't fit a 4.0 turbo legally into a 1200kg car. According to the qld main roads website for a car over 1000 kg the turbo engine size multiplication is only 3 x the body weight.
I had originally thought as the later models came out with the big six you would have been able to get a turbo' done complianced . Has any one heard any different? |

A modded naturally aspirated ba engine would go fantastic in a cortina.

Really after something factory turbo that makes good power with a little tickle.
Getting a 2jz to around 500hp seems reasonably achievable with a few grand thrown at it and they are a smaller engine, starting to lean that way now. Also something a little different. |

Do some research.
If you want it fairly legal you might be better off starting with the single turbo 1JZ type motor. |
