As far as I know these slugs run 17+ sec quartermiles stock. Mine wont pull the skin of custard. I've beaten a few VT's though.

Stock, the 0-100 time would probably be 9.something. You can thank the diff for that.

An EF II Ghia is quite different mechanically to an EL Fairmont, though.

I agree with Wayne; there was a big difference between Fairmont and Fairmont Ghia mechanicals at that time.

factory specs on the EL
http://www.mynrma.com.au/falcon-el-gli_fordfalcel.asp el ghia had 3.5:1 diff and a few more KWs. add in a sports exhaust and a unifilter/pod and you get some reasonable numbers. :evil_laug |

thats right madnc. ford wanted a car to match the imported acceleration of the mercs and beamers at the time so they just did a few small mods. :the_finge
the diff makes a big difference to the acceleration. the sports exhaust and unifilter i use on mine also hoots it along... ok ok its not a $55k GT but it still beats bombadores (mostly) :1syellow1 |

a fairmont is basically the same as a falcon running gear wise.....a Fairmont Ghia is an XR6 driveline wise - with an extra resonator in teh exhaust to quieten it a bit 1onety11 Last edited by LUXO_8; 26-02-2006 at 02:56 PM. |
