I've been looking at getting a second car and am looking at an EA Fairmont Ghia. The thing is though the ad says the thing is a five speed manual.
Did they come from the factory like that. My AU only had an auto option and i didn't think you could get EL's in manual as well as BA/BF's. When did they stop having manula Fairmont Ghias and does Ford have it on the cards to bring back manual Ghias with orion?? |

It would have been auto from factory, to double check what was in the car, get the trans code from the compliance plate.
I can't recall the codes, but someone should know.

EA and EB series one Fairmont Ghias were available with a manual.
The EB1 Fairmont Ghia 5.0 Manual is a very rare combo...

Just answered my own question here at redbook
http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au...MON&year=19918 So yes they were sold as factory V8 T5 combo, these might be rarer than a GT

But that something thats lost on these forums, or in the car world in general. Who gives a flip if its rare, still doesn't mean its worth anything. Safe bet is your GT...LOL

I actually own a 1990 EA Fairmont Ghia 5 litre, 5 speed manual "proto type", built at the Ford plant in campbellfield Vic!! (with all the documents to certify it was built at the assembly plant)
The vehicle certainly is UNIQUE as Ford Australia were not offering an optional V8 engine in December 1990. Subsequently, a V8 engine was introduced at the next model, EB Falcon in September 1991 (sent on November 30, 1995, by Michelle Byrnes- service representative-Ford care) |
