G'day everyone, and fellow ford supporters! :Reverend:
I'm new here and from SA, too bad my name no longer represents what i own, My car was written off not long ago, making it hard to get to school lately. A lady failed to give way across traffic lights, i happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and hit her doing 50 K's and flipped her new Holden Cruze (SHE SERIOUSLY MUST HAVE PROBLEMS). Anywho, owned a Blue Mist EA Falcon, was my grandpa's.. so a lot of sentimental value for me in it. The lady didn't have insurance, so therefore we went through mine, and i got 1,500 for it and they keep the car.. however, if i went through hers i would have kept it.. go figure. My dad is putting in another 1,500 for my new car, which give's me 3,000 grand to spend. I've been looking into EF's and love the look of 'em, seen a few for my price range. Been looking around in the trading post, which was my main finding of them. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts.. opinions.. generally anything :Reverend: Cheers, damn.. it's killing me not driving at the moment! |

the big money problems when it comes to an eseries are generally head gasket or auto trans.
if you're handy with the spanners then its not so much of a big problem. just ensure anything you're lookin at buying is driving fine and doesn't leak, check for coolant stains etc. $3k EF can be done, just be sure you're not getting a bad one.

EF's are a great thing. There have been some going incredibly cheaply on Ebay - Fairmo's for a few g's. Hottest tip I've got is to look at your local auction house in the damaged & repo section. You should pick up something there for a couple of grand.

Thanks guys, i'll be sticking round.
I know 3 is a bit low for an EF but it's something i'm really hoping, i won't be going for anything which has had a ridiculous amount of K's on it, and most all which i've looked at weren't ex taxi's. My brother good with cars, so not a lot of troubles there. Cheers for that tip GMH8TR, will do! |

I've found something guys, not 100% but is looking promising.
Model - EF Falcon GLI Sedan, 1995 Colour - White KM's - 199,000 Extras - Spoiler and Alloy Wheels Transmission - Auto Engine - 4L It looks very nice, and considering it had only just got to the place which the seller had selling it for him, it still looked good when it was dirty. It was at first selling for 4,999, but the seller wanted to get rid of it and brought it down the 3. I'm getting my mate's uncles who's a mechanic to check it out tommorow, hopefully alls good there. It was an ex-profix car, hopefully the service's will be upto-date then. Thoughts guys? as i said, looking promising, but will take it for a test-drive and see what happens.. and get it checked out.

Take a good look at the interior - is it in good nick? The tranny is an expensive item to replace so be sure to check it out well too. At roughly 20000 k's a year, if it was cared for and not flogged, it could be a nice buy.
