What solenoid specifically via the scan tool? There is not a specific 2nd gear one . S1 + S2 are the shifting solenoids
S3+4 are for shift comfort control S5 is pressure S6 is cutback S7 lock up converter And yes each is marked on the valvebody |

When i bought the car it was from a guy that owned a tuning workshop and had scanned it twice and both times he said it came up as being the 2nd gear solenoid(maybe he meant the s2 solenoid?).I might just change both the s1 and s2 solenoids while im in there,is there any tips to look out for when doing this or is it fairly just a straight forward swap.

Fairly straight forward. You may have to drop the valvebody down a bit to get them out, I know you have to for the s5 can't remember for the others
