spend the $$$ and get a fairmont! all the little luxuries, and you don't have to bother trying to fit them later ;)
best bet - an EFII Ghia - 3.45 LSD, XR6 engine, etc etc - all good ИИИИe! :evil3:

well buy the mitsi then! : but you're not comparing anything even close to similar - so how is that comparison valid? compare it to the stated power of a commodore, then you're comparing apples with apples.

at the flywheel.
each dyno will give a different result, its the torque you should be interested in. Torque= power=

i was simply stating the power rating of that car as i said not much power for the fuel consumption and some one said compared to? which i showed the mitsubishi i dont see how you could say its not in a similar group... just because its not a v6 thats a 3.8l like the commodores that eliminates it as part of the comparison??? and as you can see i put ??? after the mitsubishi to see if it is 110kw and if any one knows just as i posted the website about the ford and some one gave me a answer. Its not like i have anything agenst any car im not biased im just looking for info.

Your missing a main point mate. Sure that mitsu has 110kw. Have a look at the fords torque and at what rpm. I'm not sure on the figures exactly but i know the curve is rediculously good. And you will feel it when you drive. I find it hard not to get the wheels spinning accelerating at a medium pace out of a corner :the_finge

djmaker, if your looking for a falcon to drive get a stock GL, if your looking for a car to tinker and mod get a Fairmont or a XR these had luxuries like better seats, trip computers, nicer steering wheels, gear ratios, cruise controll and more power (my el had like 167kw stock at the flywheel)
a falcon engine is a large 4l and produces heaps of torque, a 2.5 v6 wont produce as much. dont buy a car based on KW's. as i said each dyno says something different. I would buy a car based on torque. Mine has just short of 450nm

well i plan on buying this car in a month or two and i will be moding it but i only got $5gs for the car... which limits me to what i can get and from the looks of it xr6 will be a far fetch and the fairmonts arnt that cheap either... so thats why i was looking at the ef?? As i said im not sure on the pricing of evrey single model of ford but for $5grand i pretty much saw a ИИИИ load of ef models...

1993 MITSUBISHI GALANT HJ V6-24 2.0l
110kW @ 6750rpm 179Nm @ 4000rpm 1320kg 1995 FORD FALCON EF GLi Sedan 4dr Auto 4sp 4.0i 157kW @ 4900rpm 357Nm @ 3000rpm 1541kg Look at those figures the falcon would kill the galant. The ford has 47kw more and double the amount of torque of the galant! It also makes peak power/torque much lower in the rev range! If i was you i would be looking at manual ef futura. |

G'day Mate,
I was looking last week and managed to find a good pick-up in a White 1995 EF Falcon Sedan, with very tidy inside, spoiler, alloy wheels and 199,000 KM's. So considering i payed 3,000 for mine, you should be able to get a nice buy. Where are you by the way? (State) If you don't mind me asking.. Goodluck mate, nice to see have you aboard aswell, I'm new here aswell. P.S Should have my EF by the weekend guys
