Default Tickford motors in el falcons

Early in the week I was reading this site which said Ford put twenty Tickford motors in el falcons, I thought I bookmarked the page but no, has anyone else read this site, I am only taking this for granted from what I read but if it is correct could you please give me the link, I do not know anything about Tickford motors but the site said you can find out by looking for a "T" at the front of the block, the site also said there are twenty owners out there who may not know what they have. I will check mine out tomorrow if my legs come good.

EL Fairmont Ghia and Fairlane Concordes got the Tickford engines standard, don't think i've heard of the 'EL Falcon's' getting them, how ever it'd be pretty common for a few non-tickford cars to be getting around with tickford heads and they may have been put on with headgasket changes etc.

as said, the simplest way to tell is the T on the front of the head.

Yep you're right:

"One to watch for - keep your eyes peeled for roughly 20 or so EL GLi's, Futura's & Fairmonts fitted with XR6 engines (identified by a 'T' cast into the front of the cylinder head). Due to a prolonged breakdown at the Geelong engine plant, these engines were fitted out of sequence to avoid stopping the Broadmeadows assembly line."

take a pic of the front of the head and post it up.

p.s. it is a big 'T' and hard to miss.
