what!!!!!!!!!

There are a few going for 7000-8000, but 5!!!

AU1's are dirt cheap (except for those damn XR's). I nearly brought a black au2 fairmont, sunroof, 100,000k's for $12, but that would of left me with no money for mods...not cool.

It must have been a high Km dog to sold for that much.
I'am in the process of selling my ghia but have been offered a much better price than that for a 1999 model but I have just under 102,000Kms on mine & it has been looked after from 3,000Kms in 2000

No surprises there, unless its an XR or T series AU Series 1s are lucky to get anything over 10 grand now wholesale, that includes Fairmonts and Fairmont Ghias, the *** has fallen out of them but at the same time its happening to the BAs now to. Best investment if your looking for reasale is to buy something with Tickford wings on it, or in the BAs case with an XR badge on it or a Bird!

I looked at a Series 2 Ghia on gas late last year, wanted 17k, had 100,000 kays on the clock and a few niggles. It was really nice inside, leather etc, but I walked away.

Late December bought a Series 2 SR with 73,000 kays for 11,100 plus on roads and rego (was a NSW car) and a few minor repairs, steering rack, tailshaft and some servicing.

I still would have loved that Ghia though, but it doesn't matter!

I hope you get a good and fair price for yours.

All the best with it. KUP (keep us posted) with what you get.

It looks like $14,000 as I wanted $15 Grand for it. But as the prices keep dropping I'am selling before it won't fetch 10 grand. I will hold of on buying another car until the new Falcon arrives & the 6 speed BF's are cheaper, as there is enough cars around for me to use until then. The AU ghia has been a very good reliable car for me & as myself & others on this forum look after their cars they can get a better price for them. As I mentioned on other posts I looked around at the cheap Fairmonts under $10 grand before deciding on a price to ask for mine & some were very rough, filthy engine bays, poor panel repaires on them & high Km cars with dents & scratches on their duco's. So I reckon I got a fair price for a looked after car.

Have been given a deposit so will book for a roadworthy. I removed the 3'' mandel inlet system plus I offered the original steering wheel to be fitted as well as supplying the momo but buyer happy with the momo s/w left on.
Au's are not that much worse than a VT/VX holden in resale & a better car except some find their appearance unusual.

EL GT copies with near new Yokohama C drives.
By the way the final price I agreed on was $13,900.
Just hope I don't get tempted to buy a S3 T series.
But the 6 speed auto in the BF Ghia or XR or new model when released is what I'am looking at. But still have a soft spot for the AU's
