oh Jaguar.

Personally i think they really need to fix the S-type/Mk3 and centre their recovery around it. They should really clean it up with more aggressive and hammer the US market with and cash in on 300c/magnum phenomenon and send the Buicks to the wall. Though the chances of that happening are slim especially with Ford trying to save Mercury.

I cant however see Jaguar saving itself with the expensive, low selling XKR (especially when Aston Martin is churning out the Vantage) or the woeful X-type. In reality the situation will just get worse and Ford will try to make a Jaguar SUV which would be an abberation to the brand.

A family freind has about a dozen Jags and knows all to well about the greatness and weakness of Jags.

The X - Type / Mondeo was just a plain wrong move by management. Yes Jag needs to pull in the belt because Ford has to draw a line on where it can throw its money to.

I heard a great quote from the SMS that the XKR looks identical to the DB9. I pointed out the fact that it uses Jaguar tooling to make it and didn't believe it. Dont forget that because Aston Maton uses Jaguar tooling thatAston saves a little and Jag has to spend a little more.

edit: http://www.jag-lovers.org/concepts/xj41.html This is the car from which the DB7 and DB9 was eventually made.
