Arrow Public Car Emissions tester Survey

As your car ages, it runs less efficiently. Running your car inefficiently means that you end up spending more on petrol, and you pollute the environment more. Imagine if you could test your motor vehicle emissions by your self, at your local petrol station, for a small fee.

We are developing a motor vehicle emissions tester that is to be placed at petrol stations. The emissions tester is designed to be easy to use, so that any one will be capable of using it by them selves. The emissions test will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Please click here to complete the survey. Only 4 questions!

Thanks,
Murray

Coyote, it depends what type of dyno test. The more sophisticated emissions testing procedures do use a dyno to simulate a 'normal driving cycle', and measure your car emissions over that drive cycle.

I've never had a dyno test done, so I'm not sure what they'd be testing for exactly. But if the purpose of the dyno test is to enhance performance, rather than to just find out the kW rating of your car, then chances are they would be testing emissions to find out how well the engine is running.

Based on the exhaust emissions they can tell whether the car is running too rich or lean, or if there's other problems with the engine.
