Also called Radiofrequency neurotomy.

I had it done, as mentioned earlier in the thread. They do put you under but not full general anaesthetic. Just the twilight version.

Took a couple of months for things to improve and now I'm a lot better. In general day to day life I rarely think about my back any more. I have periods where it flares up again but mostly it's ok. It still gives me grief when I do physical activity like gardening, washing cars, riding etc but the threshold has been raised. I can do more before it plays up.

The pain specialist I saw was a Dr Kang at Calvary in the city.

Ok great, thats a positive! I would like to get back to something like that level !

Have been reading good & bad, but thats the same as anything.

My Specialist is Dr Bhandari from Rehab Med SA.

Injections did **** all for me. I still have a lot of pain, especially first thing in the morning. I struggle to get clothes on for a while. I can't bend to pick up anything off the ground, I have to get on my knees

The last Neurosurgeon told me it will take 2 to 3 years for my back to fuse. He wanted to see me again at the 2 year mark.
