Default Engine code ??

Hello, when i was looking at the paint code i noticed that there is also an engine code, my code reads "H", its a 1997 EL Falcon what does this letter stand for? and were there different engines accross the EF/EL range?

Thanks Paul

The TECHNICAL RESOURCES area accessable via the nav bar up top is your friend.
The 'H' code stands for the 4.0l MPEFI engine. There were 2 versions of the 4.0l motor (standard - H) and the HP motor ( code X) as well as 2 different variants of the 5.0l V8 (Z, & J)

yep check the head, should be 96DA 6090 AB and the block should have VR2A on the side under the exhaust where the sump and block meet.
