There's a reason there is a limiter.
I believe it's because you get too much vibration in the driveline. Also, why the hell do you need to get rid of it anyway?

That s*** is crazy. I had no idea gauge of steel in the tailshaft was so thin. That link is gold to show any know-its how going that fast in a passenger car is not something cool to brag about.

So *that* is what happens to all the coke cans...
***Ghia5L peruses VPW for tailshaft loop*** Not due to planned 180kph jaunts along the public motorway dear readers... due to 4.11s and planned future 1/4 mile attacks. |

My EL XR6 had a factory limiter. it was auto and when i had the chip done they removed the limiter(manual conversion). I had the car at 200kmph and ill never do it again, the vibration was bad. Im looking for a alloy one from a XR8

I was told they did it because the standard auto gearboxes would pack it in at 190 not that we need to be doing those speeds anyway.

I'd recommend everyone look at the above Fordmods link, and consider what it'd do if the car was actually moving at said speeds :|

aren't the e-series tailshaft's only rated to 180 and thats why the limiter is there. unless you do some serious racing leave it. its there for a reason.
