Its nothing urgent, but soonish I would like to re-trim just the front sections of my front seats. The back and sides are mint, but obviously where you make contact has worn a bit, and has a few surface cracks.
Its just as shame because everywhere is in top condition. Anyone know where someone could get the material from? Im not keen on trying to find the entire seats, which would also probably be worn anyway. Would Ford spares be a place to start? i know Ait International (pretty sure anyway) make the seats for Ford now, not sure who did it in 1997. Any help would be great. :

Mate i'm not sure how much you're looking to spend, but when i was considering the same thing i looked around and retrimming was quite expensive. Thanks to the tip from Cams290 i picked up a full grey ghia leather interior including door trims for $600. Grey seems to be more common than cappuccino, but i'm sure there would be plenty of wrecked cappuccino leather el ghia's around. If you're interested pm me and i'll give you the details of the wrecker i went to. I'm pretty sure Cams290 picked up a full cappuccino LTD interior with electric seat for a similar price.
The seats i got had 160,000 on them so they are worn, but not that much, and nowhere near as badly as the originals. Click on the link in my sig to see the replacements seats in my car.

I may be able to help you Polyal, the back section of the rear seats are out of a 70,000k NL Lane, and are in awesome condition.
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=60468 $100 and its all yours, plenty of good leather in them.

Hmm I actually think your ghia is the first one Ive seen with the grey interior.
Ive had a look at your thread, and my fronts are basically exactly the same as yours (condition wise). Its just those surface cracks that are annoying me, there are no tears.

there are very few cracks in the replacements, they're just mucky from the grease at the wreckers. I've bought some leather cleaner/conditioner which i'll be working into them, they should come up trumps. If you're looking to rebuild yours yourself, then i'd go ahead and buy those seats cam has for sale - great price.

I would have to find that out first I guess before I buy anything that would need modifing. i was hoping to find some front sections that would go straight in to be honest. But I will keep your offer in mind. edit: if you could email me some pics that would be great though.

Not that you are probably interested, but if you weren't intending to get the original leather seats back in your car, and have ever looked on ebay there is a place on there that have the mock vinyl leather look type seats.. What they do is either send you the kit to do yourself or you can send it to them. The reason i tell you this is because they can do your door trims etc, and it is the closest looking thing i have seen to the leather seats, but in awesome colours etc.. I was weary but after seeing them i found they look really good, well on their pictures anyway, and you could have the whole inside of your car done if you really wanted too and on your already nice shaped seats they would prob look pretty cool
anyways just a suggestion, they charge around $599 for the whole car upholstering to be done CHEEERS |
