hey does anyone know where i can get vinyl material embossed saying XR6?
im re trimming my door trims (the fairmont insert part) and i want to try and get XR6 embossed into it.im from bendigo, central victoria so close by would be great but if someone does it in melbourne etc and the price is good id travel. by the way iv seen it done in the latest issue of performance ford magazine in the black eb XR8, the boot has been all boxed off to support a sound system and the main centre piece has XR8 embossed into the vinyl. cheers braden

Try a motor trimmer shop.

Depending on where on the door it can be done very easily. example: On a flat panel.... line with 3/16 closed cell foam, glue to panel, cut out your XR6 script in 3/16 CCF and glue in place, spray complete panel with contact cement, spray vinyl with CC, wait 15 mins, put together and press into place, presto embosed door panel.
See photo for example. :Reverend: Last edited by 39ClevoUte; 19-06-2012 at 08:45 PM. |

you can DIY.
use a thin rubber/foam the shape of the part you're trimming and cut out what u want embossed. cover it and make the material follow into the new cut out holes, only need a very thin rubber/foam (3mm or so)

If I remember correctly and the EB XR8 is the one i'm thinking of (black with chrome rims, numberplate GUNXR.8) he just used cardboard. He took a photo of the XR8 badge and enlarged it on the computer, then printed it, and cut out the shapes.
