I've been to Phuket a half a dozen times. Planning to go back again next year. It's great value for money. Have a huge one, or just spend time seeing so sights, tours, all that stuff. Its a great place to visit. It's cheap and represents value for money. If you ever want any photo's, let me know.

My wedding is the 23rd of September ... and Bec and I are flying out to Hamilton Island on the 25th ... we are staying up there for 7 nights ... just about all meals included in the package .... ask for a honeymoon package ... so many extras thrown into the deal.
We were looking at Fiji ... but we are not the type of people who can just lay around for 7 days. we finally decided on Hamilton (we did a day trip there last year ... when we stayed on dreaded Daydream Island) ... it was great on Hamilton ... plenty of things to do up there ... and weather is pretty much great all year round. I am so looking forward to getting on the plane to leave Sydney. And after what has been happening with International flights ... we are happy not going overseas ... seeing about the only hand luggage you can take on is a clear plastic zip lock bag and a passport with your wallet. I know the food and drink is going to be expensive ... I found that out when I was on Daydream Island ... but I have taken that into account already. I am staying at the Beach Club ... no kids allowed in there ... just a couples resort (no pensioners either). Also free golf kart usage with accommodation for the entire time ... WOOT.

If your into diving, That is THE place! Million dollar point & Cooledge. Accommodation up north is pretty basic though. Packages to Vanuatu can be quite reasonably priced, but once there it's very expensive! Meals, drinks etc are murder. I also don't think the locals are nearly as friendly or genuine as Fiji and I strugged with their "pigeon English". I am off to Treasure Island (Fiji) on 29th Aug for 9 days and we originally looked at Vanuatu again (Le Meridian) The travel agent put us off, saying Le Meridian and many of the Port Villa resorts have gone downhill & have become very "dated". I think a Fiji Island would be much better suited for a honeymoon than Vanuatu... Anyhow, I'll let you know how Treasure island stacks up nowadays! Regards Charlie
