Default What Are You Doing Ford! Stop Playing With the Colour Chart!

I've noticed recently that ford will be stopping production of the Velocity in august. I've been planning to get this colour when the facelift lobs in later in the year. But now am in dissaray of what colour i want.
Why can't ford keep a colour for more than short term, hell blueprint was out for around 4 bloody years! Velocity is an awesome colour and i can't believe they of getting rid of it : Please ford, keep velocity until the end of the year. PLEEASE....

End rant :

Sorry mauz, you have to pick another one!

I'm sure there will be a similar one to replace it by the end of the year.

I cant see the problem with regular freshen ups of the colour chart, as long as there is always a reasonable choice available at the time. A good mix of enamals and metal and some staid colours as well as this months flouro nasties.
The regular colour changes keep more individuality to what is after all a mass produced product. It all helps keep the showrooms and the nationwide carpark fresh.

I agree, its getting to the stage of how it was with Model T's - a famous quote from Henry Ford "You can have any colour you wish so long as it's Black". It's getting to the point of "You can have any colour you wish so long as it's Blue" - Blueprint, Shockwave, Velocity, Narooma and I think there is another one coming?!

I really never liked velocity to tell the truth. It looked like half baked blueprint to me....

yeah i don't really like velocity either, looks washed out compared to blueprint and shockwave. And i don't think blueprint was out for 4 years, 2002-2004.
I was dissapointed when they dropped blood orange, that colour was my favourite then they go and replace it with a half assed metallic version imo. :(

I think the variety also adds to resale values of the second hand cars.... variety for each person... but yes it sucks when you fav colour is ditched

Yeah Blueprint was out for for about four years, I'm pretty cartain T series Tickfords came in Blueprint.

It's a shame to see nice colours go, but if they stay around too long everybody resprays their project car or the like in it. Remember Holden's tiger mica.

I'd really like Ford ditch some of their Blues/Purples and get some nice Red's.

I don't see Silhouette going anywhere soon, it's a good, looks damn good on Ghia's and Fairlane's

I can see how its annoying but atleast we have lots of good options.

Dont stress, I dont see blue going off the charts anytime soon.

My fav blue would be a shockwave GT with white stripes...hmmm

they could add all these new colors and leave the older 1's as well...then there is a massive choice of colors

i dont mind velocity....it almost looks like it has pearl in it at times

Put Velocity next to Blueprint and it just looks faded. Might have worked better if it had come out first...

yeah i have to admit, i've seen those velocity (light blue) XR6's arround, and i'm always thankful it didn't come out first, cause i'd have that and not blueprint..

in say that, someone else probably thinks the reverse.. best advice is to make the best of a bad situation.. or just pick black i think it's everyone's second favourite colour :p

Hmm.. I though it was a bit earlier than that?? Have a pic of a T3 at the 2001 Sydney Motor Show, but I thought Blueprint was available before then too??

I've seen a AUII XR8 Rebel (original, had the Rebel decals on the rear doors) in Blueprint, and they were manufactured from July 2001 to November 2001. :
