get an EF or EL one, all the sensors and stuff from your eb manifold screw straight into the holes in them. one of the holes in the au one is different, you can drill and tap it, but its a pain in the ***.
i think its the combined air flow/air temp sensor. you also need a way of switching the BB vacuum switch. not sure how everyone else does it but i run an EL ECU in my EB, which also switchs the thermo fans etc. |

just did the conversion my self well worth doin i reckon, car feels more alive but this is how i went about it.
For a start your gonna need the bbm style inlet manifold injector rail and throttle body, (not sure if ya need the tb but i got it with the manifold) got that stuff off a guy at work for $50. the ducting from the tb to the snorkel, cost me $100 from a local wrecker. A vacuum switch so you can swith te bands in the manifold this is a switch that when a signal is given it will cut the vacuum straight away there for switchin the manifold worth 20 from a wrecker. Either an el computer or a frequency response relay to send the signal to the vacuum switch to switch. If you dont use the computer you will need a unichip or something to re map the fuel curve when the manifold switches. im using the frequency response relay because it is basically a shift light so i can change what rpm the signal is sent to the vac switch to work with the cam and the adjustable cam gear that was 35 from jay car. You will then need to get some hose made up from pirtek or similar to screw into the injector rail and connect to your fuel lines, since the eb just slide the fitting over the rail and hose clamp into pace and the ef onward use a screw on fittin this cost me $20 to get made and you will prob need a sample of the screw on fittin so they can match one up. i think that was about it, but with my mods (cam, exhaust, chip, head work) it was well worth it, the car responded alot better down low before the cam started to work efficently. Good luck. Last edited by EB6; 31-05-2005 at 08:21 PM. |
