Default Your favourite camping spots

Interested in your most loved places to camp and why. For me somewhere you are allowed to light a fire is a must. Black rocks in the Bundjalung national park northern N.S.W is pretty good and reasonably isolated. Also Rummery park at Minyon Falls near Mullumbimby, all rainforesty bush walks etc. Although some people joke that the latter is too much like Belanglo state forest - (Ivan Milat) .

That isn't camping...that's living in a tent with facilities nearby.

Camping is being in the bush with no running water, NO toilet, no stove...nothing.

I went camping in April to Howqua River. Was brilliant. In a valley so it was freezing (-1) but if you prepare, it's no problem.

Sheepyard Flat on the Howqua would have to be one of the states best bush camping spots. The road in is a bit rough (but fun in an old car) but the peace, the river and the fun around the fire is great. We usually go a bit further than the main campground to get a quieter spot

For me I would say Pondelowie bay in Innes N.P. on the toe of the Yorke Peninsula.
Excellent surf (not for me though), Salmon by the dozen, isolated beaches, great diving/snorkelling, pub within 10 minutes, awesome scenery, shipwrecks on the beach(Ethol and Ferret), lighthouses etc.

Has showers and toilets, but both are bore water and full of Kangaroo ticks.

hahah I paid for the privilege, I have trekked in Nepal several times now, and it’s the best holiday ever.

First was a 35 day walk Everest base camp but walk in from the road head, not an easy stroll flying into and out of Lukla.. Second was a 32 day trek doing the Annapurna circuit , and then the 50 day trek around the Dhaulagiri massif.

I have been into lots of other areas as well, but that was employment with the WHO as part of a vaccination project.

That C word shouldn't be allowed on the forums, disgusting thing it is

The club members were talking about organising a C trip and it was quite funny as two of us immediately said we would be hiring a fully decked out camper (others thought we were joking)

I'm fond of a place called Kyalite about an hours drive north of Swan Hill, and also have fond memories of camping out at the Menindee Lakes (pretty isolated, bit over an hour away from Broken Hill). There's plenty of other places I've been camping that are probably nicer, but there's something about the memories formed at a particular spot. For me, it was catching plenty of big yellow belly with minimal effort off the banks of the Wakool and Darling Rivers, respectively.

This is probably 1997, so I can't guarantee that the fishing is as good as then, but we were catching catfish, bream, cod and yellowbelly all weekend and this one I caught within 10 minutes after the first cast off the bank.

Dunns Swamp, Wollemi N.P, three hours west of Sydney and about twenty minutes off into the sticks from Kandos. If its not school holidays you have the whole weir to yourself to fish yourself stupid.
