Question hand brake adjuster

does any one have a pic of the adjuster it's self. I think my ute's has a bit of wear. if anyone can post a pic would be much appeciated.

Use the search function, and look for a post by Whoosha. He has shots of everything rear brake related, all in a handy "How to".

Which of the adjusters do you need inside the car, or in the hub I stil have a heap of shots I never posted

the hub. I just went and brought a new one. i just wanted a pick of the adjust to see if the wear on the adjuster was the same as others.

It has only been adjusted 2 times in it's life. 60, 120 and now 188. Heaps of life on pads and i will look at new adjuster to see how bad the old one is. I might return new one if i can salvage the old one.

P.S I'd rather s cams and slack adjusters on heavy trucks compared to this chit!!!!!!!!

It's not the adjusters that wear out - it's the handbrake shoes. Try replacing them, and you should be all good.

The shoes are brand new nearly. The adjuster is worn in the pin. I have now got alot of the marks out of the pin with a bit of emery coth. Working like a charm now with a bit of lube. Will run with old one for now and see how it goes. Keep new one in Top of tool box.

Ah, I see - the pin that runs through the middle of the adjuster. Something I'll keep in mind for next time.

I only gave it a light sand and i was rite as rain. Also i grease it with Inox ( Cum Juice ) because of how light it is and also heat could be a problem in drum and with inox it would be ok, Grease i have here is for Bearing on trucks and trailers, Not light car stuff.
