hey guys - I'm replacing the water pump on my gf's '89 Laser with the B series engine (sohc)
i have the old pump off, and the new ready to go in. i had to remove the ac pump and power steering pump to get it off. but i can't get the new one to squeeze past the wheel arch into the right spot - its too damn tight! but logic says if the old comes out the new should be able to go in yes? anyone done this before? any tips? did you remove the alternator and slid it in the other way? |

G'day
Try undoing the RH engine mount, while supporting the engine on a jack. Gently lower motor till you get the pump in. Had to do this on a couple of other breeds of 4's when doing timing belts and the like. |
