Default Ford Focus Zetec - How do I pimp it out - Help!

Hey Guys,

My mate has a Corolla Sportivo and I want to give him a run for his money!

I currently have a Stock Ford Focus Zetec and I want to Pimp it out/up a bit, not really done this before so any advice is appreciated.... also where to go would be great.

I would like to make it more powerful/louder/ sexier you name it. with in a reasonable price range.

Thanks
Aaron

hey mate, what model focus? new or used? what yr?

with any zetec you can do the obvious which is cat back exhaust, intake system, just the basics, after that ur starting to look at more expensie and risky things like under drive pulleys, extractors and porting and obviously a tune.

ware to go? depends where u live?

pimp it out? depends on ur stle dude, if ur after stock sporty looking buy a set of eibachs to lower the car 32mm, buy covered rear wiper bodykit if u have an lr etc just stick to ford parts. the thing about sportivos is that they are a dog under 4k,

to put it simply a stock xr4 can out accelerate one, the focus weigghts a bit so u got that against you.

hope that helps.

This site will have the most stuff you want. Also "pimp-out" is a bit misleading for what you want - it usually relates to decking out the interior and exterior with visual/audible modifications with no regard for performance ie massive chrome rims, catback exhaust, excessive lowering and big stereos. If you only have a limited budget decide which way you want to go - pimp or performance.

10k pimp:
Bodykit - 3-4k
20" Wheels 1-2k
Airbag suspension - ? I'd gusstimate 2-3k
DVD Screen Stereo - 2k

10k performance:
18" wheels + tyres - 3k
Slotted rotors - $600
Coilovers, rear camber/castor adjusters, adjustable rear sway bar - 2k
Cosworth intake, cams, springs - 3k
Xforce Headers, High flow cat and exhaust - 1.5k

If you want to spend 10k on a focus that'll stomp a snore-tivo corrolla you can buy my old LR.

All the hard work's already been done.

Not going to happen Adam. Have made my bed and lying in it. Now that I've gone higher compression NA, there is no going back....unless I start all again...which is not going to happen

But supercharger would have been cheaper!@!!!

Thanks guys for you help,

I appreciate it and yeah, I think I need to be clear next time with Performance or Pimp! I meant Performance wise.

I have actually decided to sell it, I'm going go into the house market instead...

To beat a sportivo you're going to have to pick up 40+kw, that's a big ask. Easier just to buy an XR5, WRX, etc. Cheaper, easier, much better backup.

A Corolla is less rounded than a house
