Default GO! NINE Networks new SD channel

Starts August 9, 2009.

Meaning some digital TV's and SD/HD set top boxes will need to be rescanned in order to receive the new channel.

In capital cities, if you scan the existing NINE channel/frequency for your area, you will see GO appearing on LCN 99.

For NBN/WIN regionals, GO's LCN should scan in as 88.

* LCN = Logical Channel Number.

It was only a matter of time before Channel 9 did something to compete with Channel 10's new channel, One. For me, after have a look at slideshow of upcoming shows, the most anticipated would have to be Seinfeld.

I'm sick of all the kitchen/cooking crap that they have been putting on lately. What is with that?

I still like One beause of the variety they have been providing but will have to wait and see what Go actually gives us. They could have come up with a better name though!

More new channels the better. Still not much except maybe "the Wire" We have season 1 on DVD. It was good, so I will watch that.

Seinfeld is always good but we have the box sets.

I will flick through to see what is on, 1 HD is the pick of free to air channels and good old Foxtel.

We lost both 9HD and 9 Digital from the Plasma yesterday (just went to a black screen) - I had to retune everything in. So annoying (I had to re-do ABC about 3 weeks ago as well when they changed).

Some TVs/STBs auto tune, others don't. The one really good thing about these new channels is that it will eventually kill Foxtel and Austar.

We have been held to ransom for over 10 years by these bastards and the sonner they die the better.

Would be nice if we got something digital other than ABC and SBS....actually wait...no. I find they are the only stations i end up watching.

Go go country towns and the "digital changeover"

Too right, you know how much these fu**ers want a month so I can have only 3 channels; Discovery, History and National Geographic?
Honestly, I don't want any of their other rubbish as it is all reality BS and repeats. That's not to ignore the amount of ads they now play.
BTW, I hate channel 7 with their ads, may a million bees sting Kerry Stokes and his poxy behind.

I've never sunscribed to pay-TV channels. I may have been swayed if they had anything worth watching. But then again, I don't automatically switch on every night. I only turn it on if there's something I specifically want to watch. I used to watch the news every night until it became a contorted load of crap concocted by spin doctors and close-ups of road crashes. (With the obligatory interview with a police officer stating that it was definitely caused by speed).

There's some awesome free video pdcasts on iTunes (if you're Apple connected) with Military channel, Discovery channel shows etc including Dirty Jobs. Awesome stuff.

I still look forward to interstate trips with work. Hotel room = Discovery channel. Who needs to pay for porn channels when you've got free Discovery?!!!!

We have foxtel and the amount of ads for a paid service is pathetic. Not to mention the same programs 2-3 times a DAY.

When I go away I get a whole host of channels (about 80 odd) and about 50 of them are infomercials and rubbish talkshows like "the view" and "Oprah".
The ad breaks there run for about 5 minutes, so you've got time to get a drink, brush your teeth, make some popcorn and phone your mum. When a program ends the ad breaks are so long you even have time to shower or even punch out a grummy. I guess in perspective, we're not as bad here.

Pick up the Showtime network. Dexter, Generation Kill, Sons of Anarchy, True Blood, Breaking Bad, the list goes on. No adds, not interruptions, worth it alone.

Have you remember, with Foxtel's growth over the last few years, and the growth in networks and programming, something has to foot the bill.

Mmm, perhaps you should consider going to SelecTV instead, except it doesn't have the History channel, which is a shame.

One has the existing dish re-pointed, or you can do it yourself, IF you know what your doing.

And IF you do know what your doing, and know what sort of decoder or PVR you want, then there is a way of obtaining a legal, 'card-only' service, that doesn't come with company help/advice (on setting up the install), they instead refer you to a particular domestic satellite forum for all that.

A few years back, with all the hoo-ahh back in 2002 when it briefly left Foxtel, apparently WWE wanted more $$ thrown their way, Foxtel said no and we got early TNA and UFC instead, Foxtel and WWE got their acts together, and long story short, WWE's main programming is exclusive to Foxtel.

I've seen the programing line up of "GO!" and I'm disappointed. Mostly just crap... Except for Seinfeld, that's an all-time classic sitcom. I was expecting the channel's lineup include some older classic shows which have been aired on the Nine Network in the past, except it's turned out to be a channel to solely appeal to younger generations and a place to put American shows that failed to rate well on channel 9 like Dance Your A$$ Off. But I hope that in future, it'll improve. Foxtel still flogs the Australian version of Match Game (Sorry, Blankety Blanks) which only lasted 2 seasons and is the only game show in Australia that I know of that's being rerun only because it was hosted by Graham Kennedy. Since Nine have an additional channel, they outta re screen game shows like Sale of the Century or Larry Emdur's version of The Price is Right if they still hold rights to air them.

We have Foxtel which drowns us with the same old repeats and only works intermittently (those idiots can't fix it and it takes forever to call them because of their unfriendly customer phone system). Also very limited with what we can get because it costs a fortune to have anymore channels than what we already have. And for some reason I have not been able to find "GO!" in the Foxtel TV guide. I wonder will it eventually appear in there one day, or I'm just not looking hard enough?
