Default Fiesta front grille open to the elements

Just had a thought this morning after washing the car,we all no that summer is on it's way and summer brings billions of bugs with it.
So was thinking of some how applying some fly screen mesh behind the grille to protect the radiator fins from damage,as on inspection there are bent fins already from bugs and stones.
Do you think it will affect the cooling of the car by doing this?

Hi Fi.ES.TA
It depends on what size screen mesh you have in mind.
I used standard fly screen mesh on the front of a honda civic years ago. It worked a treat for bugs & insects but caused the car to run HOT. In the end I ripped the mesh out & got accustomed to hosing the radiator as part of washing the car

Yeah this is what i thought it might do run a little hotter
i always wash the rad down when cleaning the car to rid the bugs
it was just more of an idea to stop the damage to the fins.

damage to fins will be not as detrimental to air flow as a mesh covering the radiator.
