Default The 'Beast' gets stuck!

President Obama's car is apparently known as 'The Beast' given that it can withstand just about any form of attack.

Trust the Irish to find a way to bring it all undone then.......

Funny stuff... but if think about the serious side of things, this is a serious lapse in planning by his sercurity team or who ever checks the route out before hand. Incredible to think that they dont consider road conditions and clearances? Surely they must....

Someone in the Secret Service is looking for a new job...

Hell, when Prime Minister Bob Hawke visited the factory I worked at many years ago, some days before there were four guys who visited and went through the entire place...looking at staircases, slippery spots on the floor, trip hazards, low overheads, etc. And this was just Bob Hawke. You'd think the team going in first would have checked the entire route as well as any possible side routes they might have to take in an emergency...

I thought it looked more like the front suspension collapsed, rather than the car getting stuck.

Look closely, that's not actually 'the beast', it's the president Bush spec limo. Easy to spot differences include the chrome detailing under the headlights, the headlights themselves (the beast uses Escalade headlights), the lower & upper grills and the beast's more upright shape.

Old Limo

'The Beast'

That thing is awesome...there was an article in Popular Mechanics about that car when they built the new one.

The thing even includes a sealed oxygen supply and even a supply of the governments blood for emergency medical use.

http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars...dustry/1269716

A lot is secret...but look at the width of the doors and especially the upper door frame and windows when they show the door open with the Prez getting out...

And for a bit of history, here's the "Top Seven Presidential Limos"...

I was reading an article that said that the one that got stuck was the decoy one and the president was in the second one which is "the beast". That was from the secret service. They admitted that they stuffed up and said its always a problem getting the limo around because of the ride height. I would post a link but its to hard to work out on my phone.

This is what happens when you lower your car to look like a cool President. Let this be a lesson to those who want to slam their already lowered XR/GT.

There really seems to be something odd about the front suspension - did it collapse under the weight shift or is it some super tricky concept to make the car sit on the ground in an impact?

Agree that some people are going to get the chop for this, such a bloody silly mistake and it would probably only happen to the yanks. Engineer and control every aspect of everything but don't think of using pencils in space.

Or bring a helicopter in during the early hours, crash land, then C4 the driveway to make sure there is no evidence.

There is a conspiracy going around that Obama has something against poorly designed driveways....this was his last resort.

i think you'll find it just looks like that because of the angle of the driveway and the weight shifting when the front end bottomed out because the weight comes off the rear end at the same time.

The Pres got left high and dry

The back wheel jumping off the ground was awesome

As said, you can hear the BMW hit

Those doors are flipping thick... nearly as thick as the occupants?

Deesun, without giving it real thought I'd say drag it backwards. If the car doesn't bend, raise the rear wheels first. Again, without giving much thought I'd suggest a tow truck with a cradle or a fork lift. Having said that, I killed an old cradle last century when I was lifting the front of a heavy Caddy.
