I got a grand plan I am now putting into place.
Anyone know anyone selling an internet cafe in melbourne? Must be established and profit over $4000 a month after bills. More details for anyone interested in selling up. No i dont want you to ask why i want an internet cafe, no i dont want you to comment on how **** they are and why would anyone use one when everyone has internet at home, yes i DO know what I am doing. Internet Cafe is a third of my business venture. Cheers.

obviosuly pay for the company.
Why are peoples worries about companies MAKING money? Who would own a company that doesn't MAKE money? Why would someone run a business that doesnt make $1000 a week? Im on salary and i make more. Its not that much money for a business to make. Anyway... Auslandau, my idea is very unique and i do not wish to disclose to much information just in case. But, i have a company i am buying out on Monday, which profits 7000$+ a month (basically secure business grade internet resale to businesses), i will be looking to merge that with the internet cafe with some special ideas i have for it that I think may work out as no other one does it, and also bring in my wehosting services over to it too whilst i buy out another webhosting company. Anyway, basically 3 ventures, all run from one location. And that location may as well be an internet cafe as its extra profit, low maintanence, and i dont have to be there so i can still run my normal National IT Manager role salary job. Hopefully all this venture can fund the 4 houses im currently building venture. Big plans, big risks, big money to be made in the end! Thought I may put it out there if anyone wants to sell or looking to sell. Depending on the company etc, id offer anywhere from 30k to 100k depending on a fair few things. \ I have checked realcommercial.com.au seek and heaps of other sites. Even googled 'internet cafe for sale in victoria'. If i cant get any bites ont he forums, I will try a business broker.

I thought about an idea like this years ago, but stupidly did nothing.
An Internet cafe/laundromat (same building but separate areas) in a popular Qld holiday town. Backpackers use the Internet Cafe whilst doing their washing.

for all those interested. found an internet cafe profits 3500$ a month after expenses. Needs 5k worth of renovating but got it for under 35k. Prices are really cheap for stuff so i will be boosting up prices. Cans of drink from 1.50 to 2$, internet from 3$ PH to 3.50, then memebrs $3 per hour (they dont do member rates yet), energy drinks from 250 to 3$ Vs and 3.50 Red bulls, and also install a coffee machine for $3.50 a coffee. With all this straight off the bat, im sure profits will go straight up.
goes to show, just need to look at the right places and find people desperate to sell.

Also $3.50 for a coffee from a machine? Are you serious. From my experience the coffee from machines are terrible and you would be lucky to charge $2 per cup.
Increasing everything 50c overnight is not a way to keep customers. |

there are no other internet cafe's around, it is next door to a train station ad in a very busy location. I also dont mean a button coffee machine. As in a barrista coffee machine. If i was to do a button coffee machine, id get a lavazza one and prob charge 3$ a coffee.
Customers will see the renovations put in as the place looks like ****. Hopefully the wont mind the massive 50c hike. The business is a secondary business as i will run the other business off. I am doing this business as a side business so my missus can run it. She struggles with pains and stress from her job so taking her out of the 40k a year **** job, she can work here. If the shop clears over 650 a week after expenses, then we looking good. Happy wife happy life. Not to mention all the extra income will help.

How many days a week in this place open? Is the $4000 per month about $1000 per week on which tax has to be paid? Is there 9% super included in this income? Are there 4 weeks holidays and sick pay etc included in the $1000/week? What is the provision for maintenance of the equipment? Did it ever occur to you that there may be people on here who have been running businesses, including several internet cafes, since before you were born and maybe have a better understanding of the big picture? |

The point I was trying to make is that instant coffee is cheap. If they sit there drinking Espresso's it's going to cost them money hence they might have only one cup then leave. By all means have an Espresso machine, but also give them the choice of a self serve 'elcheapo' caterers blend of instant coffee. If Coffee is free they might just stay longer and pay for more internet time.

i didnt say im working there.
There are low paid workers there. Missus will be doing 35 hours a week, the other 45 or so are cashies for 7$ an hour (currnelty). No idea how people work for that. Super? holidays? sick pay? lol. Your funny. We own the business. My misus isnt getting paid to work there. Owners dont work for salary. Its only a small business. Very automated and the staff can play games free and get paid for gaming whilst sitting on their *** for 8 hours. How is that a bad gig? if the place clears 1000$ a week, then it is DEFINATLY worth pulling my missus out of her current job. Especially when the shop has potential of making 1500$ or more profit straight off the bat.

I hope your term "cashies" is casual and not "cash in hand" as if they are on cash one day one of them is going to dob you for what ever reason and you will end up with the ATO and Industrial Inspector nailing you to a cross or worse still one of them hurt themselves then you have to work cover which makes YOU personally responsible for all their costs. Good luck with it but remember 9 out of 10 small businesses fail because of the "hidden costs", don't be one of them. |

of course i meant casual....
I would rather have someone pay $4 for a coffee and 20mins intenet (special) than someone pay $3.50 and sit on a pc for 1 hour. A) frees up pc, b) saves elec bill. I only have all the answers when I have done the research. Which i have done! I dont mean to come off rude, but when you are so quick to pass judgement and your 2 cents not knowing anything about the situation, you can see why i come off defensive. Cheers tippy.
