Default gouge found in rotor

I was just chasing noises in my BA and had another look at my front brake pads for wear and just generally "looking"

I noticed on the "inside" (basically the rotor is two parts joined by some sort of air chamber) that their was a large "nick"/chip/chunk taken out

it looks like it was machined in there.....is this normal for balancing or has the rotor been subjected to an impact.....feels too smooth with a rounded base to be an impact

sorry I still cant upload pics......the gods of attachments do not smile upon me

pretty much identical.....a little shorter but definitely the same....thanks folks...I thought as much but best to be sure

I'll have another go at the photos on the weekend it's just something I am not doing correctly on my end......very frustrating as I'm a keen photog and have a lot of pics that I'd like to put in the photog section
