stupid ad, arn't we ment to be selling cars? 90% of the aussie public don't listen to ads. Aslong as it has loud noise, great shots/veiws of the car and exhaust note it works, eg Thunder ute ad.

On the postive, atleast the QLD goverment could use this ad to advertise to kill cane toads

This wont be hitting TV, so its meant to be funny, advertising is not all about just the car perse. its about getting the ecoboost brand known which has more power in the Ford world than the falcon itself.

This will get sent around in emails etc, put on FB and get people talking, then follow it up with a "proper" car add.

UM ...... ad is just a funny Facebook ad and is not going to be on 'public' airwaves. I would even doubt that Ford itself has endorsed it or had much of a hand in it. It will make the rounds (as it has already)

If 90% of the aussie public do not listen to ads, why is there so much discussion on the subject on the lack of advertising? Ford must be doing things right then? Bit hard to make a loud ad about the EcoBoost ......

Didn't sound like the EcoBoost 4cyl to me.......

I only hope the stuff that makes it to TV and Print as the same sort of quality and wit about it!

Nothing like a good game of Road Toad!!

Rules are -

Drive normally along quiet roads and (where safe) swerve to splat as many toads as possible.

One point for running over back end of toad first

Two points for running over head first - the POP is louder that way.

Hose car before guts dry.

The ad will do well in Qld anyway. Promotes the car and saving the environment.

Interesting snippet from a marketing company.....

"Internet Advertising offers measurable results and the best return on investment

Ten years ago, roughly 7 million Australian’s had access to the internet. Nowadays, over 17 million Aussies use the internet regularly – that’s 80% of the population, and around 9.5 million Australians are registered users of Facebook.

Recent research has suggested that the internet will challenge TV as the main advertising medium by 2014 – that’s less than three years from now. It makes sense to invest in internet advertising now to get a foothold, rather than eventually investing three years down the line where you are likely to have an uphill battle against established advertisers in what may well become the world’s most potent advertising medium."

Maybe them idiots in Ford's marketing department do have an idea after all.

If you look at the real estate industry it wasn't too long ago that print media was where you looked for houses for sale. Nowadays most people look at realestate.com, domain.com etc.

If that is the new Falcon advertising coming from ford, then wow! This is just what ford needs to get some ground back. Loved the ad, and I love the direction of the new marketing. Advertising on TV is dead money. Bring on the new age of product promotion

Agree ........ If Ford are 100% behind this type of ads, it does open the door for some more very imaginative, creative and boundary pushing promotions that does not need to be restricted to the confines of TV politically correct rules!
